Work is in generally good condition. Canvas has been lined. Some rubbing along top edge due to frame abrasion. There are two nail-head sized pigment losses along the top edge, one above and to the right of the figure's head and another at the center of the right half of the top edge. Under UV light: scattered strokes of inpainting occur above the blue bird, near the white bird at right, just above the signature, in the body of the elephant, in the front right leg of the lion, in the yellow flower at top left. There is some inpainting along the bottom edge to address frame abrasion. There is also a five inch line of inpainting to the right of the yellow flower at top left, and another five inch line of inpainting extending from the bottom edge near lower left corner. Otherwise fine. Color: Yellows somewhat brighter and reds richer than in catalogue illustration.
