Condition

This work is done on masonite and framed in a simple wood strip frame from the period. Under UV light there is no evidence of inpainting. There are a few tiny spots that fluoresce white in the center of the work. There is craquelure in the highly textured areas of the sky. There is a 1/8 in. circular loss 8 in. from the top on the right. There is a little cracking at the juncture of the sky with the land 8 in. from the top and 6 in. from the right. There is another 1 in. crack along the top border in the center. This work has never been cleaned and would probably benefit from cleaning and conservation.
