Condition

The surface of the work has a waxy varnish. The canvas is unlined and well stretched. There are frame abrasions intermittently along all edges. There is buckling in the upper left corner. Under ultraviolet light there is significant inpainting visible along the left edge consistent with frame abrasions and intermittently along the other edges. There is an area of inpainting measuring 1 ½ in. repairing an old paint loss in the lower right corner. There is significant craquelure and slight lifting surrounding this. Overall the work appears to be in stable condition.
