Description
The rectangular hardwood case with slide closure containing a hinged interior panel inset with a white cushion-shaped dial with gilt Arabic numerals and markers and blued steel hands, dial signed Van Cleef & Arpels, case 1 7/8 by 7/8 inches; the band ring decorated with two tapered segments of pavé-set round diamonds weighing approximately 1.95 carats, mounted in 14 karat yellow and white gold, size 5½.
Provenance
An Exquisite Collection of Jewelry, the Property of Two Sisters, Elizabeth Calvin Bonner and Margaret Calvin Bowles, sold at auction in New York, April 15, 2003, lot 270, for the ring.
Condition
Clock with manual movement, unsigned, presently running. Dial signed Van Cleef & Arpels. See Important Notice Regarding Condition of Watches on page 273 of the catalogue. The diamonds in the ring are approximately I-J color and SI clarity. Scratching to the gold parts, but in good condition overall.
