Description

The emerald-cut diamond weighing 4.67 carats, flanked by 2 triangular-shaped diamonds weighing 1.38 and 1.28 carats, the delicate openwork gallery collet-set with 8 round diamonds, within a micro-pavé setting of numerous single-cut diamonds, altogether weighing approximately 3.00 carats, mounted in platinum, size 6½, signed with initial M, numbered 4609.

Condition

See GIA report stating the center stone is D-VVS2 (potentially flawless). Also see two GIA reports for the flanking diamonds stating G-VS2 and G-SI1. The small paved diamonds are approximately E-F color and VVS-VS clarity. In very good condition. Would be very difficult to size due to diamonds being set in the entirety of the shank. Signed M for Martin Katz and numbered 4609. In good condition.

Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
