The brooch designed as a large starfish, set in the center with a cushion-shaped tanzanite, completed by numerous sapphires and emeralds in various shapes, the matching earclips of domed form similarly set with clusters of pear-shaped and oval sapphires and emeralds, brooch mounted in 18 karat gold, the earclips in 18 karat gold and silver, brooch signed MFC, earclips unsigned. 

Brooch: the centre cushion-shaped tanzanite measuring 17.85mm x 17.82mm, of a medium, very slightly violestish-blue hue, very slightly grayish saturation of colour. Slightly included towards the corner of the stone. Numerous sapphires ranging from light to a medium blue hue, of good clarity. Some stones with minor abrasions to table facets. Emeralds of light to medium green hue, moderately included. Earclips: emeralds are watery green and heavily included, sapphires are light to medium blue with good clarity. Stamped 750 and 925 (for silver). Earclips unsigned.
