Description
The cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 9.18 carats, flanked by 2 pear-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 1.95 carats, mounted in platinum, size 6¼.
Condition
Good condition with general surface wear. Please see AGTA report no. 95016211 stating the sapphire to be of Kashmir origin; no indications of heating. The sapphire is a richly saturated, medium-deep blue with even color distribution. Minute abrasions to the facet junctions and a small nick at the girdle, but otherwise eye-clean. The pear-shaped diamonds are approximately F-G color, VVS-VS clarity. There is evidence of sizing to the ring and currently it has a ring sizer. The ring was given by the consignor's father to her mother on the occasion of the consignor's birth in 1962.
