The stylized floral motif of bombé form set in the center with an emerald-cut yellow sapphire weighing approximately 17.25 carats, within an openwork border set with 75 round diamonds weighing approximately 10.35 carats, further decorated with round sapphires, emeralds and rubies, retractable pendant loop at the top, mounted in 18 karat gold, signed VCA, numbered 34524.
Condition
Good condition with minimal wear to the mounting. The medium yellow cushion-cut sapphire is lightly included (several small eye-visible crystals under the step-facets); the keel line of the pavilion is off-center. The 18 medium-deep blue sapphires weigh approximately 2.45 carats, the 8 deep slightly purplish red rubies weigh approximately 2.15 carats and the 14 richly saturated slightly bluish medium green emeralds weigh approximately 1.45 carats. (Weights provided by an insurance letter issued by Van Cleef & Arpels; a copy of the letter is available upon request). The sapphires, rubies are emeralds are lightly included to eye-clean with several stones bearing chips to the girdles. The diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS-SI clarity. The VCA signature is on a plaque, along with a partial maker's mark and 750, also inscribed FM 1-14-75. The pin mechanism is 14 karat gold and is stamped 585. The retractable pendant loop is set with two round-cut sapphires.
