- Trabert & Hoeffer Mauboussin
The cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 11.55 carats, flanked by 6 baguette diamonds, mounted in platinum, size 6½, signed T&HM. With signed box.
Condition
Good condition with wear to the mounting. Please refer to AGTA report no. 98007311 stating natural sapphire; no indications of heating. The dichroic sapphire displays a vibrant "cobalt" blue alternating with a slightly steely blue. Eye clean. Diamonds are approximately H-I color, VS clarity. The "T" and "&" to the signature are worn. Numbered 4382 to shank interior. Trabert & Hoeffer -Mauboussin, was the "American" Mauboussin. The French firm Mauboussin closed its New York premises in 1929 but established a partnership with the American firm Trabert & Hoeffer in 1936.
