- signed Van Cleef & Arpels and numbered, French assay and indistinct maker's marks, inscribed 'country of origin: France'.
Designed as a stylised ribbon tied spray, set with six principal pear-shaped diamonds, baguette, circular- and single-cut stones, mounted in platinum and white gold,
Condition
Stamped Pt 950 for platinum and numbered 47112. Total diamond weigh estimated to be approximately 20.00 carats. The six pear-shaped diamonds, weighing approximately 11.40 carats in total, generally G-I colour, VS clarity (one SI), the three larger stones stated to weigh 2.96, 2.67 and 2.17 carats as inscribed to reverse of mounts. Originally the brooch was set with three pear-shaped emeralds which were later replaced by diamonds. The inscribed weights 1.54, 1.65 and 1.81 at the back of the mountings correspond to the emeralds' original weights. Scratches to metal, signs of normal wear consistent with age. In good condition.
