The central graduated line of circular-cut diamonds in cut-down collets, Third Quarter of the 19th Century, detachable and wearable as a necklace, encased within a scalloped millegrain-set frame of circular- and rose-cut stones,
Literature
The central diamond rivière was a gift from Carl Co🐼unt Scheel-Plessen (born 1845) to his wife Louise, née Countess Scheel-Plessen, on the occasion of their wedding in May 1882. In the Early 20𝓰th Century the diamond rivière was encorporated into this tiara.
Condition
Metal tested as platinum. Diamonds mixed colour and clarity. The five largest diamonds estimated (gauged in mounting) to weigh respectively approximately 3.40 carats, I-J colour, I clarity, 2.20 carats, H-I colour, I clarity, 1.80 carats, J-K colour, I clarity, 1.40 carats, J-K colour, SI clarity and 1.30 carats, K-L colour, SI clarity, in our experts' opinion, as far as collet setting permits. Minor scratches to metal, signs of wear commensurate withe the age of the piece. In good condition.
