Description

  • together with tiara fittings and tools, black leather fitted case by Auger, Joailliers-Orfèvres, Place des Victoires, Paris.
Comprising: a necklace, the front designed as interlacing garlands millegrain-set with old-mine and rose-cut diamonds, the back set as a line of similar stones in cut-down collets, length approximately 770 mm;  an aigrette designed as a stylised foliate spray of pear-shaped, old mine and rose-cut diamonds; and a pendant of open work design, the lozenge surmount set to the centre with an old-mine diamond within millegrain surrounds of circular- and rose-cut stones, suspending a pear-shaped drop of similar design, to a trace link chain,

Condition

Collection of jewellery with it's fitted case. The necklace is most probably a combination of a diamond riviere early 20th century and the 'garland' section was probably previously the main element of a tiara (frame included in this lot) and later transformed into a necklace (traces of solder). The aigrette would have been part of the same tiara. All mounted in platinum and with screw threads. Necklace total diamond weight approximately 25.00 carats, pendant total diamond weight approximately 6.50 carats and the aigrette total diamond weight approximately 5.00 carats, as gauged in the mount, mixed in colour and clarity. Good brilliance throughout. Signs of wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use and age. Attractive and versatile suite of 1900 jewellery, in good condition.
