The clasp has probably been later added, which would explain why there are five bails to each side of it and only three rows of ruby beads. Rubies with a pinkish red hue, typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching (to be expected with beads). Overall attractive necklace with signs of normal wear consistent with use and age.
