The cabochon ruby inset to a mount of baguette, circular- and single- cut diamonds, mounted in platinum,
Condition
Stamped Pt 950 for platinum. Cabochon ruby gauged to measure approximately 20.2 x 14.3 x 8.6mm, estimated to weigh approximately 27.50 carats. Pinkish red colour, translucent, typical crystal inclusions reaching surface, natural occurring cavities (one below prong), one large cavity on the side and at the back (not visible when worn), abrasion and scratches, a few nicks. Ruby slightly loose in setting. Diamonds of mixed quality but good brilliance. Scratches and minor tarnish to mount. Signs of wear. In overall good condition.
