Catalogue Note
Blade is one of the first and most well-know🎉n graffiti artist. He has sprayed thousands of trains and has also photographed many of them. He has stayed true to the original painting of letters on trains, decorated with 'characters'. A lot of 'characters' are derived from cartoons like Woody Woodpecker, Porgy Pig and Looney Tunes. He tries to create a tension between the big letters which at the same time suggests space. Blade sees and dreams his name everywhere in the world and in the universe. With his sharply cut letters, rendered three dimensional and abstract, he contributed to a new dimension in the Graffiti movement.
