The painting is in good condition. There is a pin-sized hole on the upper left corner of the painting, and the weave of the silk is slightly loose in scattered areas in the lower register, which may be a pre-existing condition of the medium, but the painting itself is well-preserved. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a spot of retouching on the cheekbone (near the hairline) of the figure, which is visible only with UV. The colours of the actual painting are crisper and brighter than those of the catalogue illustration.
