A view of a convent with nuns and washerwomen in the foreground The canvas is unlined and has lost tension. The paint layer is stable. There is the result of worm infestation to the left hand edge, un-restored, and obvious discoloured restoration to the sky, right. The paint layer is thin and the coarse texture of the canvas is dominant in places. There is discolouration to the paint layer but otherwise the painting is in good original condition. A view of the entrance to a ruined monastery, with monks and peasants in the foreground The canvas is unlined and there is a loss of tension. The paint layer is stable but there has been slight damage caused by worm, upper right. There are visible discoloured retouchings in the sky covering previous damage. The paint layer is discoloured and thin in places, allowing the coarse canvas texture to show through; otherwise in good overall original condition."
