Description

- Portrait of the author and poet Giovanni Boccaccio (circa 1313-1375), head and shoulders
- inscribed along the upper edge: M GIOVANNI BOCCACIO

Condition
The support consists of two vertical glued panels secured by one horizontal batten. The paint surface is somewhat abraded though stable. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouchings throughout and some restoration along the panel join. Offered in a modern carved frame in fair condition.
