Condition

The canvas has been recetly relined, cleaned, and restored. Some scattered retouchings flouresce under UV light. The paint surface is secure with some minor areas of abrasion. Offered in a plain black frame which has suffered some knocks.

Catalogue Note

Although considered an autograph work by Ferdinand Voet and datable to circa 1675 by Petrucci (see Literature), he notes that the more summary handling might be explained by the painting's probable location high up in a cabinet des dames.
