Description
- Portrait of an artist, half length, wearing a blue coat with a fur trim and a brown hat, holding an urn and a pen, said to be Francesco Simonini (1686-circa 1753).
- inscribed on the reverse: Ritratto del Pittore/ Simonini Morto nell'Anno/ .1753.

Condition
The canvas has an old relining. The paint surface is secure and generally sound. Inspection under UV light reveals minor strengthenings and retouchings. Offered in a carved and guilt wood frame with some minor knocks.
