The canvas has been laid down on a support consisting of two horizontal panels which are secured by two vertical battens. The paint surface is somewhat abraded and there are scattered discoloured retouchings and small areas of restoration visible to the naked eye. These are confirmed under UV light although thorough examination is impeded by the varnish. Offered in a wood and plaster guilt frame with some knocks.
