Provenance
Madame de Villers (according to an old inscription on the stretcher which also states the painting was executed by Dietrich in 1772).
Condition
The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is secure if a little abraded in places and under a thick varnish. Inspection under UV light is inconclusive due to the varnish although a couple of areas of retouching do fluoresce. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in fair condition.
