"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The canvas is lined and the paint surface is stable. There are retouched paint losses to the top edge and minor paint losses here and there across the surface and one or two isolated abraded areas; but generally in a very good condition overall. The varnish is discoloured and an appreciable tonal improvement would be achieved by its removal. Offered in a carved gilt wood frame, some losses."
