Condition
The photograph itself is in generally excellent condition. When viewing the photograph in raking light, two small circular areas of localized silvering, each approximately 1/2-inch in diameter, are visible at the top left and the bottom right corners. Also visible in high raking light are a few minute surface scratches and small deposits of the photographer's retouching.
The photograph is mounted to board that is slick white on the front and beige on the reverse. The front of the mount has two square areas surrounding the image from previous overmats that have large losses and small tears to the mount's top plies, as well as deposits of adhesive and paper remains; one 3/4-inch from the print's periphery; the other 2-inches. These areas . These are not visible when viewing the photograph under the new overmat, and do not affect the signature, date, or number. The corners of the mount are lightly bumped.
The reverse of the mount is lightly age-darkened and has a few losses of the top ply along the edges. There is a long strip of linen tape along the right side of the reverse.
There are framer notations in an unidentified hand in [pencil on the front of the mount.
