Condition
Illustration is quite accurate. Unusual object in overall good condition. The gilt bronze with a fine ormolu gilding and typical Louis XV chasing. Some restoration to the porcelain flowers, also several minor chips and certainly some flowers missing. The porcelain figures with some small damage and restorations as the basket of the fish girl. The opposite girl with a wing broken and without circular gilt bronze base.
This very decorative object may have previously received a silk or paper screen to be used as a light shadow. This object illustrates the skilfulness of the 18th century marchands-merciers.
