Catalogue Note
Ju Ming's Taichi series embodies the spirit and philosophy of Taichi, and exemplify an art that is both imbedded with profound Chinese philosophy and well-acknowledged by the international art scene. Balancing movement through defensive and offensive poses while capturing the energy flow through various postures, Ju's sculptures illustrate the rhythmic movement and vitality of Taichi. The sheer weight of the material is obliterated as he masterfully carves and renders the smooth motions of Taichi. Ju's work integrates balance and harmony. Demonstrating force and beauty simultaneously, Ju Ming masters the subtle nuances of his subject and his material.
