Description

- Dining Table and Four Chairs
ebonized and parcel-gilt wood
Condition
Generally very good overall condition. Some rubbing to the edges and corners of the ebonized surfaces revealing the wood beneath, notably to the crest rails of the chairs and the outer edges of the pedestal base. The glass top with scattered scratches from light use. Some spots and rubbing to the gold painted band to the side of the tabletop. Some rubbing, scuffing and minor dents to the pedestal base from age and normal use which is visible in the catalogue illustration. The chairs are structurally sound and the seats are sprung. Some rubbing and wear to the lower sections of the legs. The pierced fretwork of the chair backs and pedestal has a pleasing sculptural quality and the table itself is of generous proportion.
