Literature

Condition

Generally very good overall condition. The surfaces are clean and bright. There are transverse shrinkage separations across the tabletop in two areas that are parallel to one another and flank the lazy susan. The separations have infill repairs. There is roughness and chipping to the finish at the edges of the tabletop from light rubbing associated with normal use. The lazy susan is slightly warped down to one side which is evident in the catalogue illustration, but it functions well. One minor shrinkage separation to the top of the base which is not evident upon casual inspection. The chairs are structurally sound. The upholstery is generally clean and free from wear except for one seat which has a cluster of stains to one front corner which would benefit from proper cleaning. The chair backs have retouching to the upper edges and corners to repair signs of old wear. There are also limited areas of retouching where the chair backs join with the black lacquered uprights. The table has generous proportions and sits at a comfortable height.
