Condition

Generally very good overall condition. The surfaces are clean and refinished and have a thick glossy secondary varnish coating. Each side panel has approximately 3-4 shrinkage cracks to the top and bottom edges. The cracks are old, repaired and approximately one inch long. The surfaces have scattered surface marks and minor dents notably to the front panel and corners, some of which are visible in the catalogue illustration. The ebonized top and base have been refinished to cover old scratches and dents to the surface. The unfinished back panel has two drilled holes that are 1 1/2 inch in diameter that were cut when the cabinet was used to house electronics. With one key and two adjustable shelves.

By repute this cabinet was part of a bedroom suite that was displayed at the Wolds Fair held in Brussels in 1910.
