- Zhang Daqian (Chang Dai-chien, 1899-1983)
- CAMELLIA IN MT HUANG
- ink and colour on paper, fan leaf, framed
signed DAQIAN DI ZHANG YUAN, dated ding chou, 1937, the fourth lunar month, inscribed, with a dedication, and three seals of the artist. The reverse, calligraphy in Zhuanshu by renowned artist Fang Jiekan (1901-1987)
Condition
- Generally in good condition.
- Colours are well reproduced, though that on the actual piece appears to be more subtle and expressive.
- One minor tear is found on the seventh rib from the left, as can be seen in the illustration.
- Nicely housed in frame for now.
