This painting has been fairly recently restored. The canvas is lined with wax as an adhesive which is easily reversible, yet currently seems to be sufficient. The paint layer is most likely slightly dirty and the varnish is not quite as saturating as it could be. The picture however looks presentable as is. Under ultraviolet light there are some fairly concise restorations visible here and there throughout the picture, all addressing small and isolated losses. The faces however are almost completely unrestored and the figures are very much in healthy condition. The restorations address small losses and scratches which because of the accuracy of the restoration, do not affect the way the picture looks.
