The artwork is in excellent condition considering its age. It consists of many black painted metal wires that are twisted together to form one single unit that is secured to the black and white pinstripe canvas. While well secured to the canvas the unit of wires does move. Excessive movement could dislodge the wires so care should be taken while handling. The pinstripe canvas is in excellent condition with the exception of one tiny loss found on the proper right side of the composition. Overall it appears clean, crisp and legible. The white frame that encases the canvas is in good condition despite a slight opening of the mitered corners, which appear stable. The black painted shadow box has a white scuff evident on its proper left bottom corner. The gilded bevel on the shadow box has been deliberately distressed to appear old. No significant damage was noted on the canvas, frame or shadow box. The artist's signature and date are on a label that is attached to the back of the canvas.
