Condition

(This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Conservation, Inc.)This painting is in beautiful condition. The canvas is still on its original stretcher. The paint layer doesn't appear to have ever been cleaned but the painting is not dirty and there is no varnish on the surface. There are no damages or restorations. There seems to be a very slight drip or two on the figure's right knee, which may not be original. But apart from these drips and a few small smudges in the lower left part of the picture between the chair leg and the chest of drawers, the picture is in beautiful state. Selective cleaning can resolve these small marks. No varnishing is recommended.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report.
