Condition

Potential bidders who intend to export this lot are advised that certain permits are required for export. If you are interested in this lot, please contact the Latin American Art Department before bidding. There are minor age and construction cracks but these are not extensive. There are minor signs of old worm damage on the bottom—but again, not extensive. There are some minor losses/cracks to the mother of pearl inlay, some are now restored. There are some old drill-holes indicating the possibility that there could have been more silver mounts to the box. There are very minor losses and cracks to the tortoise shell inlay. The inside of the box has some rubbing and losses to the paint with the paint having been refreshed. The reverse of the lid has a rectangular area that could have once held a mirror or a small picture. Overall, the piece is in good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above.
