Description

Designed as a stylised loose ribbon, set with circular- and rose-cut diamonds, suspending three detachable drop-shaped pearls, the cupola mounts set with rose-cut stones, with two hinged pendant loops, one diamond deficient.

Condition

Metal tested as silver and gold. Signed R. Koch. The Frankfurt am Main firm KOCH was founded by Robert Koch in 1879. He was then joined by his brother Louis. Business thrived in the 1880s and a branch was soon opened in Baden-Baden. The Koch brothers travelled extensively to European Courts and holiday resorts to supply their large clientele including the German Imperial family. Koch closed in the mid-1980s but its name is still well remembered among Belle Epoque and Garland style early XXth century jewels connoisseurs. Please refer to report for details on the pearls. Brownish grey colour with rosé overtone, medium lustre, some overgrowth marks and blemishes. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 7.50 carats in total, old cuts, mixed in colour and clarity, generally J-L colour, SI-I clarity. One diamond deficient. Two hinged pendant loops and detachable brooch fitting. Tarnish to metal. Signs of wear commensurate with age. In good condition.
