Important Ruby and diamond necklace, 1960s

Description

Decorated at the centre with a floral and foliate motif set with oval  rubies, single-, circular-, brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds, continuing to an articulated collar set with similar stones, mounted in platinum, length approximately 415mm, unsigned, maker's marks for Jacques Timey (Harry Winston).

This piece contains ruby of Burmese origin and therefore cannot be imported into the US. Please contact the jewellery department for further information or see our Important Notices. Stamped Pt 950 for platinum, maker's marks for Jacques Timey, importer of Harry Winston. Total estimated weight for rubies approximately 60.00 carats, weighing from approximately 0.60 to 4.30 carats. Engraved 58*2 probably indicating the rubies weight. Pinkish red hue of medium strong saturation, typical crystal inclusions (some reaching surface), some indented naturals, a few nicks and chips are also present, not distracting when worn. Well matches in colour. Total diamond weight approximately 30.00 carats, overall colour range G-I, clarity range VS-SI, as gauged and graded in the mount, good brilliance. Clasp secure. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with wear, in good condition.
