Description

The compact applied with black lacquer, the thumb piece set with rose-cut diamonds and a coral baton, opening to reveal a mirror, a powder and a brush compartment, measurements approximately 75 x 55 x 18mm, signed Cartier Paris, Made in France, and numbered, French assay and maker's marks, case; the lipstick holder of similar design, signed Van Cleef & Arpels and numbered, French assay and maker's marks, case.

Condition

Compact: French assay marks for gold, thumb piece tested as platinum. French maker's marks and numbered 4923. Mirror slightly loose in frame. Enamel loss to the thumb piece. Lipstick holder: French assay marks for gold and numbered 5099. Both objects with light scratches to the lacquer and minor tarnish and scratches to gold commensurate with age and use. Overall in good condition and well preserved.
