Condition
Left illustration:
The canvas is relined. The paint surface is sound, in good condition, although the darks of her hair and shadow are a little abraded.
Inspection under UV light revealrs some very minor strengthening to the aforementioned dark area and some minor scattered touching in of the craquelure in the sky.
Right illustration:
As above, although as the area of shadow to her left is considerably larger more substantial wear is evident.
Both are offered carved gilt wood frames with egg and dart motif and carved ornate roses structurally sound if a little rubbed.
