Catalogue Note
Painted in the manner of Étienne Jeaurat (1697-1789), this conversation piece is resonant with the style of the eighteenth-century school of French painters of Turkish life, which also included Carle van Loo, Antoi𝓀ne de Favray, and Jean-Étienne Liotard.
