The canvas has been re-lined. There are scattered areas of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably along the extreme edges, to the sky, and a few spots to the figures at the centre of the composition, notably to a small repaired horizontal tear. Apart from a minor scratch (approx. 0.5cm.) to the chest of the child at the upper left, this work is in good condition, with a clean surface and rich colours, and ready to hang. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame, with a name plate.
