Condition

Apart from some slight bowing at the corners (convex), the panel is in good condition. There are scattered flecks of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably a spot at the upper extreme left edge, to the cheeks and hair of the figure on the right, and to the hair of the female figure on the left. Apart from scattered craquelure, notably to the upper half of the composition, this work is in good condition, with rich colours and fine detail. Held in a striated, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame with acanthus leaf motifs.
