Condition
Original canvas. Apart from two small spots of fluorescing pigment near the sapling in the composition, there are no signs of retouching visible under ultraviolet light. Apart from scattered fine craquelure and a pinhead-sized fleck of paint loss at the upper left corner, this work is in very good condition, with delicate colours and detail, and ready to hang. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame with striated and beaded motifs, accented by acanthus leaves.
