- bronze
of deep rounded form, the cavetto fully engraved with small panels containing calligraphic inscriptions, the well with a central seven-petalled flowerhead surrounded by seven inscribed medallions, the reverse with a bold band of calligraphy over twelve pointed roundels depicting the signs of the zodiac on floral grounds, the interstices inscribed throughout
Condition
This item is in fair overall condition. Four small 2-3cm. cracks to the cavetto and rim. With two metal plates (probably early restoration). Minor piercing to the cavetto, where a nail previously attached a metal fastening plate. Darkening throughout. Rub marks to the reverse. As viewed.
