Copper plate is very slightly bowed at lower right. under a thick, dirty varnish. several small losses and fills can be seen at edges and one at upper left corner. a few other old filled losses can be seen in foliage at center and a few in sky upper right. for the most part, there is good retention of the paint surface and nice detail in foliage and landscape. there is a heavy varnish and a slightly raised craquelure. examination under ultraviolet light shows old fills as mentioned above. there is a retouch in foreground lower center and another in landscape at left.
