Condition
Overall in very good condition. This lamp is being consigned by a direct descendant of Alice Wilson (one of the famously so-called “Tiffany Girls”), who executed the lamp in 1909 prior to leaving the Tiffany firm (see catalogue note and provenance in catalogue description). The shade, base and finial have by all accounts originated together. The shade with approximately 15-18 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout, and with considerable surface soiling to the exterior. The shade is slightly out of round. The patinated bronze surfaces of the Junior floor base show considerable surface soiling and wear to the patina, and would benefit from a sensitive cleaning and waxing to revitalize the surfaces. All of the base components, sockets and switches appear original and undisturbed. One small area on the bottom perimeter edge of the finial with a shallow surface indentation (not visible when installed on the lamp). The shade has six unique landscape roundels ornamenting the various panels—each with different landscape compositions and color schemes. The lamp presents beautifully in person, displaying a deeply saturated jewel-tone color palette.

Catalogue Note
This unique, custom-designed "Landscape" floor lamp was executed by Alice Wilson, one of the famously so-called "Tiffany Girls" who was a member of Tiffany Studios' Women's Glass Cutting Department between the years 1904 and 1909. Under the direction of Clara Driscoll, these female artisans were responsible for selecting, cutting and artistically composing the small, intricate pieces of glass which were incorporated in the Studios' iconic lamp shades, windows and small objects. Alice Wilson made this lamp in her spare time around 1909, just before leaving the firm on the occasion of her marriage. While with the firm, Alice Wilson worked on Tiffany's famous Glass Curtain for the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.
