Provenance
Private Collection (acquired from the artist in 1972; sale: Sotheby's, London, 29th November 1989, lot 268)
Condition
Executed on wove paper, laid down on canvas. There are two pinhead-sized spots of retouching to the upper right and left corners, probably to cover artist's pinholes. there are very few nailhead-sized spots of fluorescence in the lower right quadrant, possibly retouching. All retouching is visible under UV light. Apart from a minor spot of paint loss at the upper and lower left corners, probably due to frame rubbing, this work is in very good condition.
Colours: Overall fairly accurate, although the orange tones are much more luminous in the original.
