Description
- Henri Matisse
- 32.9 by 25.5cm., 12 7/8 by 10in.
Condition
Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, attached to the mount in all four corners, floating in the mount. The upper edge of the sheet is deckled and there is an artist's pinhole in the upper left quadrant. There are several paper remnants running at intervals along the reverse of the right and lower edges. There is a pinhead-sized paper infill with an associated speck of retouching towards the centre of the right edge. There are few minor water stains to the upper and right edges and to the lower left corner. Apart from some light time staining to the edges of the sheet, due to previous mounting, this work is in good condition.
Colours: The pencil lines are stronger and the paper tone is more cream-coloured in the original.
