Condition

The canvas is not lined. There is a thick impasto to the work that remains intact. There is a nailhead sized spot of retouching in the base of the vase. There is a small repaired tear towards the centre in the right bunch of flowers, with an associated patch on the reverse and an associated 3cm. area of fluorescence, probably retouching. All signs of retouching are visible under UV light. Apart from some light craquelure in the vase and in some areas in the flowers, this work is in overall good condition. Colours: Overall fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the table is less red in the original.
