Description

  • Cabochons approximately 19.35 x 14.06 x 5.51mm and 19.25 x 13.86 x 5.80mm.
Each set with a highly translucent emerald green oval jadeite cabochon, accented by pear-shaped and brillant-cut diamonds, clip and post fittings, mounted in 18 karat white gold.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to the Jadeite Jade Testing Certificate, the jadeite cabochons are natural, Type A Jadeite Jade. Please refer to the certificate for details. In our opinion, the jadeites are matching and even, of intense emerald green colour, with good translucency. Upon illumination, there are some clouds, mainly to the side and not visible when worn. Diamonds in the surround are about G to H colours, VS clarity, lively stones. Condition: Classic karat white gold earclip mounts, in mint condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory certificate numbered KJ50991, dated 5 July 2010, stating that the jadeite is natural, known in the trade as "A Jade".
