Description
- diamond and silver topped gold
Of stylised floral design, the flower centre set en tremblant centring on a cushion-shaped diamond weighing approximately 1.40 carats, two budding flowers set with pear-shaped diamonds, petals and leaves set with old European-cut diamonds, the diamonds together weighing approximately 11.90 carats, mounted in silver-topped gold.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the larger cushion diamond in the middle weighs approximately 1.40 carats, of about J to L colours, I1 clarity. Two other pear-shaped diamonds, approximately 1.60 and 1.50 carats, are about J to K colours, SI clarity based on chips along girdle. Other old-cut diamonds are about J to M colours, VS2 to SI clarity.
Condition: Four small diamonds are deficient, but two are hidden and the other two are not noticeable. Antique brooch shows wear and abrasions to the mount, consistent with age and use. Silver top layer has been oxidized giving a typical blackened look. Overall, the brooch is in good condition.
